Basic Guide in Gathering Bolette
Reserve a non-airtight basket with cover, for example woven basket or similar is best as a gathering container. Also take a sharp knife and a brush for cleaning. Knife has to remain in the basket or to be sheathed as you walk in the forest.
Boletes has to be kept in cool, airy and dark place before taking them to the receiving points. You also have to protect boletes from stong smells.

Take the boletes off from ground by hands. Push your fingers under the stem of the mushroom, and pull the mushroom carefully from the ground. A small rotational movement helps detaching the mushroom.
Turn the mushroom in your hand so, that you can scrape the ground off from the musroom´s stem. Scrape the ground off with circular cuts.
If necessary, brush the base of a mushroom lightly. Clean the top, pipes and the top of the stem with a brush.
Collect the mushrooms in a protected vessel. Do not fill several layers of mushrooms, because they might crack or get damaged easily.
Empty the collecting basket into preserving containers. Every quality class of the mushrooms has to have their own containers. Handle the boletes always with care. Do not rinse the mushrooms with water!
Get the mushrooms into receiving points during the same day that you collect them. Collect only those mushrooms that you can be certain that you identify them correctly.
This information serves you also when you collect mushrooms for your own use.
During the best mushroom season, you may collect the mushrooms every day from the same location. During slower growing season, you may use 2-3 day intervals.
If you don't take great care in handling the mushrooms, class I mushrooms can be lowered into class II or III even in 2-3 hours after collecting.
More information about gathering the mushrooms can be asked from the staff of receiving points!
